Color Me Run 2015 Comes to HCMC, Da Nang and Hanoi

What comes to mind when you think of a 5K run? 

Probably something along the lines of: hard work, sweat, perseverance, the ultimate battle between mind and body. Now throw all that away and replace it with just: FUN.

It’s a worldwide phenomenon and it’s coming to Ho Chi Minh City this April 11. Prepare to be doused in a kaleidoscope of colors as you run, jog, walk or hop an untimed five kilometers across the city. Bring friends, family, random strangers off the street – it doesn’t matter, the premise here is to let loose and get drenched in color.

In 2012 Travis Snyder began with the idea of combining a non-competitive run, where runners of all levels could participate alongside one another, with the energy of music shows and color festivals like Holi (the Hindu Festival of Colors). He named it The Color Run, which served as an inspiration for Vietnam’s own Color Me Run.

Last year, Color Me Run stormed Vietnam with spectacular success. You can check out the video from Color Me Run 2014 below.
No stress, no pressure. You move at your own pace and level of comfort. As you pass every kilometer, you get splattered with globs of colored cornstarch-based powder.
A live music event will be held after the run featuring several international artists featuring rapper and composer T-Pain, who's coordinated Akon, Chris Brown and more; Atran, who’s played at the world famous South by Southwest Festival, in addition to headlining top-rated venues around the globe; and international pop sensetion G.R.L.

In case you’re wondering, the colors are non-toxic and wash out after the event – the faster you wash your clothes, the easier it will be to get off. If you want to keep the colors, simply spray vinegar on your shirt and iron it for a tie-dye memorandum.
Registration for individuals costs VND550,000 per person, and VND500,000 per person for groups of 10 or more. Each participant receives a Color Me Run Kit (CMR Kit for short) consisting of a CMR shirt, bag, BIB number, two packets of powder paint and a leaflet. The pick-up location for CMR kits will be announced March 20th on Color Me Run’s official website and social media.
For Ho Chi Minh City only: The run begins April 11th at Truong Van Bang Street in District 2, starting at 2 p.m. and ending 10 p.m. Registration ends March 27th.
The event then heads over to paint Da Nang on June 27th and Hanoi in September.
